I hosted a wee VBCW game here on Friday but didn’t remember to take many photos.
The commanders chatting and setting up.
The old gun deployed and waiting for a target…
The regulars advancing..The next game is on Wednesday and at the weekend I decided to add to my troops and have a big painting marathon ( well big for me anyway) and mini arms race. First task was to stick together the Wargames Atlantic figures and base them prior to painting .
A busy hobby weekend ensued fuelled by the Virtual Wargames Club, podcasts and coffee.
The results were l painted three sections of nine men, an Orleikon light anti tank gun, a heavy mortar , crews, a natty Staff Car( thanks Brian) and a command group.
Opps forgot to mention the spotter for the mortar and that I scratch built the mortar from scraps.
All in all pleased with the weekend’s out put and looking forward to seeing them grace my opponents table…

Impressive production rate!
ReplyDeleteThanks . Unusual for me but enjoyable on the whole. One of the great advantages of the plastic figures is using plastic cement not super glue, so much pleasanter to deal with and no figures glued to other fingers or wee plastic bits.

Love the game photos and the progress on the new figures (esp like the AT gun). May I ask what the pale blue dice are in the first photo please ?
ReplyDeleteThe anti tank gun was a purchase from Empress miniatures and is a lovely sculpt. They make a Carden Lloyd to tow it and trailer too( https://www.empressminiatures.com/ta4-cardon-loyd-with-oerlikon-20mm-1477-p.asp) which I managed to resist. The pale blue dice is part of the rules we use. Each side has dice of a particular colour. They are put in a bag and drawn out to see which side moves. Each dice has six orders on it and you assign it to a unit to show its orders for this turn. The rules are Bolt Action .

Blimey, a painting marathon indeed! And a splendid result. It'll have to be a bigger wargame table ifyou keep on at this rate.
ReplyDeleteA marathon indeed but an enjoyable one. Bigger table hmmm…

I see the Union flag is upside down or is the unit in distress.

Love the Battle Cry on the flag (!)
ReplyDeleteI also like the way your Staff Car changed character completely with color.
So do I re battle cry.
ReplyDeleteI am pleased with the results of painting the car, it has indeed changed character, even more so than I hoped for.
