    1. Thanks. Beehive is a Britains toy from my childhood which I am rather fond of. It even has bees painted on the front. Crops up in my games now and then.

  4. A lighter grey than I expected but I like the look.
( and I'm just a teeny bit envious of the Bren Carrier.)

    1. I had the light grey paint and just went for it. The Bren carrier was a cheapies eBay find some time ago. I bought it to go with Cold War Swiss but it serves well anywhere.

  5. Tradgardmastare,

The ‘Greys’ look significantly different from the original khaki figures, and remind me of the uniforms worn by Tito’s Yugoslavian Army and the East German Army.

    All the best,

    Bob

    1. Interestingly, what I had in my mind as I painted these was a British, East German style state, with all that it conjures up . If you know what I mean.

  9. Have enjoyed viewing and learning that there was originally a grey range of these figures. For my part, I've recently restored fifteen of the green figures, but I decided to give them a gloss varnish as it distinguishes my 54mm collection from my 28mm. I remember having some of them c.1970.
