Little painting done today , instead I was helping my eldest with her new seventies Raleigh bike. Space was created in the sitting room and progress was made. I haven’t been on a bike since I was six and am as crack handed as they come. Practical things are not my forte yet I enjoyed the hours spent and the goals achieved. I surprise myself at times!
A fine looking bicycle with Sturmey Archer hub gears by the look of it - fantastic!
ReplyDeleteWell spotted!
DeleteI gave up cycling when I retired and got the dog , I do miss it at times , I had an old Raleigh for years with a leather Brookes saddle - comfort compared to these narrow modern saddles .
ReplyDeleteNever too late...
DeleteI haven't had a bicycle in decades. I do miss pedaling about. My daughter absolutely refused to learn to ride. She wanted a bike, but was abjectly terrified of falling off the thing.
ReplyDeleteEric
I as a small boy saw my aunt coming , I waved and crashed into a lamppost. Never been on a bike since. I fancied a Christiana bike to do the shopping etc but Jan felt Dunfermline wasn’t ready for such outre sight. She was probably right and I would have probably crashed it.
DeleteA neat job. I do miss my Raleigh Traveller bike, which I had to leave behind in England when I emigrated.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun and great to work on such a lovely machine!
