Land Ironclads and some splendid pictures!

 An interesting article https://tanks-encyclopedia.com/hg-wells-land-ironclads-fictional-tanks/

Three pictures now that I found which have a Little Wars vibe. A super one from 1932 with Mr Churchill. Bicycle riding lancers, how could one resist such an image and a final leviathan of a newspaper article-

  1. Heh heh! Some beautifully bonkers ideas there. The person who came up with the idea of bicycling lancers had clearly never cycled trying to carry a yard brush. Or across country after it had rained. 😂

The snail gun looks interesting too.

  2. Fascinating find. Another possible player of Little Wars - H G Wells may have played Little Wars with Churchill who had his own toy soldier collection with his brother (the collection still survives).

    1. Little Wars must have been in the public consciousness in the thirties or there would have not been any point doing a picture like this. I cannot believe the illustration is a coincidence.

  3. The 'old battleship/super tank' picture must be an American idea as there is an American flag on the foremast which is of American design.
