Across the Firth

Daughter #1 needed to go to South Queensferry today so Daughter #2 and I went along for the train ride. Lovely walks , some shopping and lunch al fresco made it a splendid day out. It is a lovely village which holds many happy memories for me as well as some evocative history. Enjoy the photos-

  3. It is a lovely place, was there before the plague descended for a wedding, and was impressed with the beauty of it.

    1. The proper name for the bridge is the 'Forth Bridge', the reference to railway is superfluous.

The other bridges are the 'Forth Road Bridge' and the 'Queensferry Crossing'.

Another point of note is this is only place in the world where you have three major bridges, one from the nineteenth century, one from the twentieth century and one from the twentyfirst Century.

  5. Isn't it great just to get out somewhere different! It's not somewhere I've ever stopped... being from Glasgow the East is a mystery to me! 😀
