On the painting table- AWI militia and riflemen

 These are the fellows from my joint order with Ronnie to Fife and Drum miniatures ( https://www.fifeanddrum-minis.com/index.html ) which have made it onto the painting desk. They are lovely models beautifully sculpted and destined to fight my Hessians. I am going with drab colours with a more colourful palette for the riflemen. The vibe is sepia drawings. Here they are -

    Ahhh...drab militia.... they look quite good, Alan. I assume Ronnie will play the dastardly Hessians?

      Those poor Hessians do have a bad reputation don’t they. Boo, hiss to the villains with twirling moustaches? 😊

    A lovely job, Alan. I wish I could get figures off the painting desk as quickly.
    Eric, happy to command Alan's Hessians. I've still got 150 or so somewhere in the lead mountain.

      Thanks. I paint in stops and starts. It depends how busy I am too. Probably get less done in the coming days. I’ll put you down as Hessian General then. Pantomime villain to many but we know better thanks to Duffy!

      Quite agree. I need to find some older painted awi stuff in the shed. Can’t find it currently. They are Minifigs etc but will be kept in their own units. I am loathed not to use them.

    Every time I see some Fife and Drum figures, I am sorely tempted to add some to my AWI collection...so far I have managed to resist, but you are not helping with these lovely looking examples!

    That's a really nice paint job. love the effect. I've never really managed to get to grips with washes on anything larger than 15mm. My own AWI are Hinchliffe and date back to 1976 so they're 25mm and would doubtless look small against more modern figures.
