Having spent much of the day fretting l had measured incorrectly the space the washing machine was to go in, all went well. They arrived within their allotted span - 17:16 to 19:16 , were helpful, friendly and efficient and got the job done. John Lewis thank you!
In other news l am currently reading-
The Vichy book is well written and full of fascinating details. To take horses across to Palestine was a major feat. A different aspect of WW2 and an excellent read. The Rugby League book is full of statistics and an excellent account of last season.
Tradgardmastare,
ReplyDeleteYou managed to do something that I still yet to achieve ... the successful replacement of an old washing machine with a new one!
All the best,
Bob
We had to replace ours last autumn and it took 3 attempts before we got one that worked properly so you're doing better than us!
ReplyDeleteAwful. Service and machines ain’t what they used to be.
DeleteThe one being replaced lasted around six years only.

All that measuring to the nearest millimetre to ensure your charge can reach the enemy has clearly been of benefit ;-) They make rattling noises when the bearings are shot so, sadly, time to sacrifice enjoyable spending to the demands of real life.
ReplyDeleteOn your other post, I was going to watch the superbowl the day after but one of the first headlines that morning was the result!!
Shame about the Superbowl for you.

I hope you enjoy the British Cavalry book, it is full of interesting detail - I wrote a brief review post of it on my blog last year in memory of Tony Adams of the Miniature Woodscrew Army Blog

Glad to hear about some good service Alan. Brian's comment made me laugh!
ReplyDeleteThe Syria book looks interesting. If I remember rightly, it was a largely Australian force of Empire troops that fought in that campaign?
It is indeed good to hear of good service.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting campaign indeed.
