In Glasgow yesterday

In Glasgow yesterday for my art history course, this week was DaDa and Surrealism. Saw these-

Powerful advert , sadly much needed l believe.
A building I have never noticed before. I was near Central station meeting a daughter for lunch. Former cinema?
Mural art in the back alleys. Glasgow has much of this to share with locals and visitors alike.
Scribbled away in cafe to come up with an army list for my late medieval Germans. It is coming along nicely. I have come to the conclusion that the way to tackle this army is through imagineering. I planned around the Seige of Neuss and also Frederick the Victorious, Count Palatine but now will create an imaginary German City as background which will give a flavour of the times without the need for slavish replication of an actual army.

  1. Love your Glasgow photies... always make me homesick!

I'd never been a fan of the Imagi-nation approach but I've avoided any real regiments for my current ECW project so I don't get trapped in too much uniform- angst, and I can see for my (some time in the future) 2mm medieval project that I might go down this route completely

    1. I do enjoy my wee visits to the West. Much to be commended in doing non ‘real’ as it avoids giving opportunities to rivet counters for commenting. Allows flexibility too on many fronts.

  2. Lovely photos!
I like those mural art ones. Usually they can be "anything" depending on the "artist", but when done "right" they can be fabulous!
    Thanks for sharing!
