On the painting table in the garden today

Not really that warm today but I was determined to be out doors hobby and gardening wise.
 Today I was working on some very cheap China made plastic toy soldiers to supplement my Expeditionary Force 40mm figures. I was basing some 28mm 15th Century Swedes and decided to try the textured paint I was using with the 40mm figures. I am still working at the snow effect before I will be happy. Maybe some highlights etc after the white paint.

The made in China figures are really cheap but have some useful figures , crossbow men and dismounted knights. They work well with the Ian Heath illustrations in the book I have been using.

    Those knights are 40mm? I recognize the sculpts as the Supreme 60mm figs.

      They are 40mm , I didn’t know they came as 60mm too.

      These are copies of the Supreme figures, that's why they're smaller.

    The China made knights look great mounted in groups, very versatile figures but they can be a bit fragile.

      Interesting you say that Brian because I was taking them off an old base yesterday and I was really surprised how easily the legs snapped. They took super glue really well fixed securely .

    The 28mm figures are nice. My son had some of the 40mm knights when he was little - I've painted a couple of them for fun.

      The 28mm chaps are Wargames Foundry mainly and will be sent to a friend for Zoom gaming as soon as the final figure arrives and is painted. The made in China knights are really cheap and came via Amazon.

    I recall Westerhope wargames goub did a big battle using those cheap figures... Looked spectacular.
