Here are the rules l used for my syw game, written on the back of a post it some years ago -
Brief but covers the essentials. Anything else was diced for if necessary. The game was a hard fought one with the Austrian Army retreating in the end . Here are the photos-
Back of postcard rules are best - and the low light is very atmospheric ...
ReplyDeleteQuite agree re rules. The table is in a room with limited artificial light so the photos and their atmosphere rely upon the prevailing weather. It turned out fine after all.
DeleteTradgardmastare,
ReplyDeleteAn excellent set of very brief rules (after all, what else does one really need?) and a wonderful set of photos. The battle looks as if it was being fought during the twilight of a winter’s day.
All the best,
Bob
Briefer the better indeed. The look of the thing has worked well .
DeleteExcellent rules and pictures!
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteThose are my sort of rules !
ReplyDeleteAnd many others I imagine...
DeleteThe simpler the better! Any set of rules that allows the players to concentrate on battlefield tactics rather than calculating the maths of victory has to be a winner.
ReplyDeleteQuite agree ans well put.
DeleteAlan;
ReplyDeleteWonderful looking game and I agree about the rules. I have a set of FIW/AWI/War of 1812 skirmish rules on a 4x6 Index Card.
Great stuff, as always.
Eric
Rules sound interesting and fun.
DeleteNice game, like the simple rules
ReplyDeleteThanks Tidders.
DeleteExcellent pics! Looks nice and wintery, with changing light conditions even.
ReplyDeleteI am trying to get a wintery feel with all this.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, atmospheric pictures. I can almost feel the snow fall. Happy New Year! Karl
ReplyDeleteAnd to you too!
