Brad, thanks for your kind comments on the ECW game. I was aiming for the Battle of Brentford 1642. I based the game on a scenario from a very old issue of Military Modelling and Battle. Having since read a splendid book 'The Battle for London' I realised that the scenario was a bit abstract, but it suited the day.
Long trip for you. That's dedication (to coin a song by a son of Woking).
ReplyDeleteThose winged hussars are superb.
But we’ll worth it. The converter told me that other figures were much more difficult to do than the winged hussars who are everyone’s favourites.
DeleteWow. Looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteGreat fun and great company.
DeleteThanks for sharing. Here's to meeting up at Woking in 2022 ....
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure. Here’s to Woking 2022 indeed!
DeleteLooks like a great time was had by all .
ReplyDeleteIt certainly was and it was continued over a great meal afterwards.
DeleteThat looks a splendid day. I see their 'Portable Wargame' will be at the Salute show - I am hoping to go along, and will make sure to look out for it!
ReplyDeleteI do hope you get to go. Do pop over to the game and perhaps have a go yourself.
DeleteI will confess to a small twinge of envy.
ReplyDeleteUnderstandable indeed.
DeleteI will confess to a LARGE twinge of envy. Brilliant stuff, Alan. Thanks for sharing all of this.

ReplyDeleteIt did. I do hope so Alastair.
DeleteLooks like a fabulous day. I particularly love the table with the guardsmen.
ReplyDeleteRonnie
The Guardsmen game had that wonderful toy soldier look and was enhanced by Mike’s terrific scenery.
DeleteLooks like a great day Alan! I especially like those trees that allow figures in between! The ECW figures and terrain are amazing!
ReplyDeleteVery different styles but both superb in their own way.
