Recently at Woking l took part in an enjoyable snowball fighting game brought by Mark, Man of Tin. I noticed he had used an “old friend “ as part of the scenery - the Britains garden pond. See below photo-
The pond is circled in red . I too had this as a boy and it was used in all sorts of games. It brought back memories of Britains garden range . Do you remember the spade handle like dibber to plant the flowers ? Looking at my scenery box l found the last piece left from my indoor garden days , a piece of ornamental walling. I wonder who else gardened the Britains way in the Sixties? Here are some enjoyable links to the Britains plastic range and its predecessor in metal. Enjoy!

I had a lot of this stuff at one time. What survived into wargaming apart from trees and hedges was the pond. One side was cut out and the rocks used as a redoubt or sangar. The cold frames were also cut to make wooden barricades and the walls and gate posts remained to be continue their role as walls [defensive for the use of]. I think these went to my brother for his table as my scenery got modernised but there may still be a piece or two left over from the sixties. The pond was available with both brownish or gray rocks.
