I was over at P’s for a vbcw game today. Before I left he very kindly gave me the figures below-
They are New York Cops , from a gangster range I presume. P said they were of no use to him and wondered if I might use them in some way in my VBCW forces. He wondered if they might make a unit of Commissioners for example. Hmm not sure. I wondered about RAC.
So over to you , can you think what these figures might be turned into with a paint job and perhaps a rifle or two? As ever all suggestions very welcome!
I notice they have child like dimensions! Maybe they are cadets. You could paint them in garish colors as some kind of retro SF troops - red, purple and green etc
ReplyDeleteAlternatively they could be painted dark blue or light khaki as police or security that are engaged in looking for enemy spies.
Great idea but I am trying to use them in vbcw games.

I was thinking their uniforms might look a bit like railway employees, or, if you want them to be "yoofs" you could make them telegramme delivery boys?
ReplyDeleteI will look further into this suggestion…

Keeping with your space ZAP miniatures, they could become armed space police (like the failed Gerry Anderson Space Precinct Series and it’s associated March)

Fun idea I must resist in order to focus in on vbcw options…

The Honourable Company of Milkmen (Black hat and trousers, white jacket)
ReplyDeleteHurrah for such splendid guildsmen!

I love the idea of armed RAC. Alternatively militant Postmen??
ReplyDeleteAdds a new dimension to Postman Pat!

Were Canadian cops dressed like so?
ReplyDeleteAlternatively, foreign legion of some description, or just foreign uniforms.
Don’t know.
DeleteHmm , more to think about…

The uniforms are spot on for RAC, deployed on motorbikes/sidecars the light arms would support their role for recon/blitzkrieg tactics. Richard
ReplyDeleteI can only find RAC uniforms of the period with high boots not trousers. Can anyone help with a picture?

I like the RAC idea! Obviously they are the Rightist rivals to the more liberal AA Militia.
ReplyDeleteMy thought was they look a bit like Chelsea Pensioners. Coats are a bit short but maybe they have been trimmed as a practical measure. Old soldiers would still be handy in an urban setting.

I too an drawn to the RAC but Chelsea Pensioners could be fun too…
