Reward

After a busy day in the garden ( first grass cut of the season and mainly weeding afterwards) l treated myself to a small parade at the end of the working day  in anticipation of some al fresco gaming this summer…

A neatened border in the background heralding in the coming of better weather and outdoor living.
I did wonder if the paving squares could be utilised for 3 x 3 Portable Wargames with 54mm figures…
Had my first lunch in the garden and a wee read too, not a bad day at all with full sun most of the day and a decent temperature too.

  1. Paving squares are always a good reason to do some outdoors wargaming. Years ago I did the same for some naval games. But now my sea is gone (an annex to the house was built), and half of the area was repaved with tiles much larger ... ;-)

    1. You’ll have to replace with hexagonal paving ?

  2. You really need to have them round the entire garden to beat the bounds! (And no, I'm not about to do it with my garden!)

    1. There’s a thought. Sadly the rain has come to disrupt my Spring idyll!

  3. A parade is a fine way to celebrate the end of a day in the garden - what else are gardens for?
I’m sure I read in the small print in Floor Games or elsewhere that the H.G. Wells Insurance Company insists that your house is deemed unsecured or unattended and at risk if you don’t have any three man or woman patrols dug in to the flowerbeds?

    1. I have kept a Minifigs horseman out all year on permanent patrol in one of my alpine containers. Sadly not a Swiss figure it has to be said.

Now the rain has come to divert things.

  5. Yes, but isn't the lawn better for cutting trenches...

    1. Very true, never thought of that, unless B&Q can be persuaded to produce concrete slabs with added trench works? Picture the scene as one goes shopping for the new Vauban Patio Range…
