Been looking at the farm with different sized figures today-
Firstly with 60mm semi flat Scouts.Next with 28mm eighteenth century bandsmen.
The adventures of an 18th century imagination, located in Northern Europe formerly ruled over by joint rulers Duke Karl Frederick and Duchess Liv.Not to mention the American colony of Ny Tradgardland the 17th century Colony of New Tradgardstadt and the newly restored territory of the Shetland Isles. Featuring a supporting bill of gaming in a diversity of times, places and scales.Hopefully something to interest all who pop by...
Works well with them all , I quite happily use 28mm buildings with 54mm figures.

These do seem to work with many of these larger scales as backdrop or building

I have had the EM4 farm for a number of years and often use it with my 54mm Toy Soldier or Napoleonic collections. it is pretty big for 25mm.

Yes, it works well. I have been very surprised with a 28mm figure put next to a 15mm farmhouse that I have just built.
ReplyDeleteSmaller scale buildings work well with figures in my experience.

They all look very good alongside the buildings Alan.

Unless using a ground scale of 28mm = 6 feet, any building is likely to be the wrong size. At a common ground scale of 1" = 25 yards the ground area occupied is a long way off. Vertical 'scaling' ia obviously off in all cases except 1:1 and that goes the for the figures too. So really it all comes down to the' look of the thing' and I thought all the permutations looked ok.
ReplyDeleteThe look of the thing , is so central. One man’s meat…
