Set up the Jacobite opposition-
Jacobite units and small artillery piece to the fore. The unit at the back and the skirmishers ( newly Penny based) are some of my old Foundry ECW highlanders roped in for this period. Unlike the rest of the force I painted them.
The army commander was a freebie figure from a Wargames show and is a lovely figure.
Yesterday the recruits from across the pond arrived. A few civilians but mainly government highlanders and a pack of officers etc to give some commander/ aide de camp options. I am a tad worried about painting these but will give it a go to the best of my abilities…
P.s l found these Jacobite rules online and am going to give them a go. I had thought about going down the Neil Thomas route and was delighted to find these ready made…

Enjoy the Sunday Sun and Partizan if you are going. I look forward to pictures and accounts of your adventures…
They look already splendid as do the new recruits from America! The sort of grown up 25-30mm figures I read reviews and adverts of in the early 1980s. But I’m happy enough with my then more affordable Peter Laing 15mm highlanders …
ReplyDeleteNice looking Jacobites, will look forward to seeing your work on the Government Highlanders, mine are well down the painting queue!!
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff! Probably enough Hessians and more than enough Highlanders between us to have a really good tussle.

Very nice all around, the recent arrivals look great - I have that civilian set (both mounted and on foot) myself - the lady wearing the tricorn has played Mrs Loring occasionally in an AWI setting!
ReplyDeleteSplendid looking highlanders and good looking new recruits!
