Post Chelsea Saturday

My eldest daughter got the train northwards, my middle one went to a booking binding day and I went to Ditchling looking for where David Jones , Eric Gill and their craft community had lived and worked.

I had never been on the Brighton line before and was fascinated at the juxtaposition of what looked to me to be 18th century buildings and the sky scrapers just after we had crossed the Thames from St Pancras.

Guild produced silverware.

A marvellous compost heap just outside the museum.

Some purchases from the museum shop, I would like one day to use the book on the top of the pile to explore Ditching in greater detail, maybe staying there for a night or two…
