These arrived yesterday. I have prepped some and begun painting a few. They are well moulded and mainly flash free. They will compliment the Newline Design range with some figures ( archers and light javelinmen etc ) which they don’t produce. The box also has some excellent civilians too which will add period flavour.
I have been buying a lot of plastic ancients these days. Plus centaurs and Cyclops. Lovely sculpts and fantastic value. I can't but feel buy them now or regret it later.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. The plastic fantasy stuff is excellent.
DeleteI marvel at the stuff turned out in plastic nowadays - so different than the old 'Airfix' days .
ReplyDeleteThe options available are quite amazing. The figures are a lot more expensive than the Airfix ones relatively speaking though, so not a way in for children I fear.
DeleteI have looked at plastics quite a lot recently but still have not bought anything!! So much out there now, every conflict seems to have been well covered in plastic.
ReplyDeleteThere is so much out there. Perhaps get a box to try. See if they suit you.
DeleteI always like a few civilians on the sprue... so useful as background dressing.
ReplyDeleteI so agree re civilians.
DeleteMinoans eh. Interesting. Puts me in mind of the novels of Mary Renault.
ReplyDeleteThese a lovely figures aren't they? I got a box purely for the joy of collecting. Andreas is producing some quite excellent figures. The Hannibal Crosses the Alps and Varus give me back my legions series and now the coming phalangites.
