Battle! Practical Wargaming: a commission to Warbases

I commissioned Warbases to make some Perspex templates for me recently. They arrived today and I am delighted with them. Warbases are an excellent company to deal with as many of you know be it in person at Shows or online mail order. Here are some pictures-

  1. Hm! Wonder if they'd make the ones for The War Game too.

    1. Absolutely certain they would, well worth dropping them an email...

  2. Oh that's nostalgic! I think as a kid I made some of these by cutting up the plastic from the Airfix kit blister packs (and sticking several pieces together for the 'HMG cone'). Having proper perspex ones seemed incredibly grown-up and out of reach!

    1. David, me to, or those plastic lids you used to get on the boxes for your Dad's new shirts, but when I started work, OHP sheets.. happy days.. :o)) Those custom made one's however are brilliant.. we live in a golden age of wargaming...

    2. I recall cutting up the plastic from my mother’s cosmetic packaging to do the same.

  3. We are indeed fortunate in what is available to us hobby wise but something in me harks back to Airfix and Minifigs.

  5. I bought a set of the new expanded edition (I have the original) to acquire the play sheets. Unfortunately when the book arrived there were no play sheets. I have gone back to the seller requesting them! My plan is to convert the play sheet rules into a hex based rule system using a 3" hex mat.
