Set up a simple old school battlefield this morning- mat by Aldi, scenery by S and A scenics, felt from the local sewing shop and a wattle fence from Tidders.
Friends came over and we played with one of their collections of large 28mm dark age figures. An enjoyable game and plenty for time to chat over coffee and lunch in the garden.
A most pleasant way to spend much of the day.
A most pleasant day, indeed!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly was.

A very nice day with friends and a fun battle
ReplyDeleteThe friends and chat are as important, if not more so, than the game.

Sounds like a cracking way to spend a day, all the ingredients to make it so! I love the simplicity of the set up, this is the route I am taking, used to obsess about how much scenery, how the table looks etc but not anymore!
ReplyDeleteSimple terrain is my port of call these days too.

Looks fun! I think I still have some of those S&A trees... they've held up well over the years.
ReplyDeleteThanks. They are hardy trees indeed.

Not a bad way to spend a day!
ReplyDeleteNot bad at all!

The game looks fantastic! Love the miniatures! Cheers, Karl
ReplyDeleteThanks. They big figures are great aren’t they.

Yes, I really like them. The poses are great. And they are very well painted.
DeleteSounds like a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteIt was indeed.
DeleteLooks very enjoyable. Lucky you to have such friends!
ReplyDeleteI am fortunate indeed. Lots of interesting stuff on your blog of late btw.

It's certainly a better way to spend your day than most of mine are! My regular gaming mate Julian has an entire box of those S&A trees, must be sixty of them at least, they are still pretty good little models, despite being purchased by him in the seventies!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear of yet another S& A scenics fan.
