Scissor sister

The young woman in the local craft shop was very helpful pointing me to just the right tool to buy. She also showed me where to get white felt. At the checkout she asked me what I was making and I told her about the bases and that I was a wargamer. She listened in  an interested manner . Her colleague said that they get wargamers in all the time, had heard of the hobby and was enthusiastic about what was perceived as another craft. I will certainly be back. Next visit will be to buy a Wargames Mat in the shape of a six by four piece white felt. Morale of the story support your local craft shop, they’re our friends.

In other news I succumbed to a Christmas jumper ( for use at school, warm space project etc) in a sale for the first time ever. The writing says “ Mince Spies” a pun that I could not resist!

  2. We have a chain store of craft shops called Spotlight and I have often bought stuff there, most recent acquisition was pillars for an ancient Egyptian or Greek temple...original purpose, holding up the various layers of a wedding cake!

  3. It's great to be able to support local shops, and the white felt idea is a good one! Try not to get too many pie crumbs on the jumper...

    1. I don’t want to have to exclaim “Oh crumbs!” It is good to support local businesses, quite agree.

  6. Glad you FELT welcome in the shop 😉

See you hot Fiskars scissors. Finland’s oldest company. Founded the year Charles I had his head removed. Coincidence?

  8. Glad you solved the scissor problem! The jumper is great, here we call them sweaters, although it’s so cold, not much sweating is happening! Haha!

  9. Thanks. We used to use the word sweater here too. It is a word more of my youth.
