Worked on some Expedtionary Force 60mm figures today-
War of 1812 First Nations/ Native Americans.
Glued together nicely with liquid cement.
Popped in 28mm figure for size comparison! They are BIG are they not!
Tried to mix suitable flesh tone with little success. Any suggestions?
Interesting figures. Didn't expect these to be Multipose kits - lots of useful spares left afterwards?
ReplyDeleteI had the same skin tone challenge with the Armies in Plastic Woodland Indians (and Rogers Rangers) you sent me, but as I was going for a very simple shiny gloss varnish toy soldier style, I chose not do the face paint / war paint (or wash or details). I used Revell Acrylic Aquacolor leather brown - seen here

Toy soldier look is what I will do, thanks for the paint suggestion. The multi pose nature is fun and lots of bits n bobs left over. Nice hard plastic but very bendy muskets.

I painted mine with Miniature Paints 'tanned flesh' but anything labelled similarly would be fine. I then gave them a wash of Army Painter 'soft tone' and was happy with the effect. I'll send you a photo.

I've painted my 28s with Vallejo Medium Skintone with a dark brown wash. For a one coat painting may Medium Skintone with some Red Leather.
