I like a wander about , a dérive. I particularly like to look at buildings.Recently on such travels l saw these interesting buildings-

These photos are of a modern chapel built onto Georgian houses in George Square, Edinburgh ,by the Dominicans.

Many years ago my office was on the south side of George Square so faced onto the buildings above.
ReplyDeleteIt was often visited by a Dominican priest in full robes on a very underpowered moped and he would go 'put-put-put' up and down the square on a regular basis.
Can you recall his name by any chance? I knew some of them…

That’s a splendid looking former toilet block! It seems to be a thing these days to convert them to cafes.

A lovely place and splendid building. Just by my place of study there is another former toilet block turned into a cafe. I recall seeing on Grand Designs (?) a former men’s toilet in central London turned into a wee dwelling. You went down the stairs to it and it had retained the glass roof bricks for light.
