A friend is painting up a Canadian force for The Silver Bayonet. I discovered this the other day. I have agreed to paint up the opposition. It will be either an Upper Canada or Lower Canada unit.I will do so using figures l have already ( after all only eight are needed) and using this excellent guide to the uniforms of the War of 1812 l got five years ago.
P.s cannot recommend the uniform book highly enough.
I hope you enjoy the game. I've played a few and had great fun. Take a look. https://www.blogger.com/blog/post/edit/6426751056939510820/130376795304916306
ReplyDeleteThe uniform guide is a must if you have any interest in the War of 1812, cracking book.
ReplyDeleteThat does look like a good book Alan - will look forward to seeing you group painted up for Silver Bayonet!
ReplyDeleteI'm another big fan of the uniform book. Gabriel Esposito also did another uniform book on the Mexican American War that I recommend.
ReplyDeleteAh, the Upper Canadian Militia Flank Companies are just the thing to protect The Canadas from any threat, whether from the Doodles or The Other World... Looking forward to seeing how your project goes.
ReplyDeleteEric
Looking forward to seeing more of this!!
ReplyDeleteI was in the Niagara area with Amanda last summer while she was at a conference. I'd hoped to revisit some of the forts and battlefields I'd visited as a youngster on a family vacation in the 80s... alas, I didn't work out. The only battlefield I visited was Lundy's Lane and that was only because it's right in the middle of town and I happened to be walking along Lundy's Lane...
