Left the house before 08:00 for a walk locally-
Most enjoyable, followed by a scone and coffee uptown. When rebasing my figures l couldn’t help but admire the painting skills of whoever painted these figures l got at some point off eBay, especially the snake-
I am pleased to be able to give these veterans the chance to fight again, hoping that their anonymous painter would be pleased…
A quiet day of pottering, painting and Test Match on the radio is the order of the day l think.
Lovely day for a walk, the sun has finally come out!! The figures look great, some nice work on the shields and it's great that they live to fight another day.

Nice to be up and out early Alan.
ReplyDeleteWith you on the painting. In its way, the shield with the triangle pattern on the rim is more impressive in its regularity.

It is good to be out early.
DeleteAn interesting, thoughtful take on the painting.

Looks like a very nice walk, topped off by some nice refreshments.

Beautiful views from your walk.
ReplyDeleteThose hoplites look marvellous. Your re-basing brings these 'old boys' back to fight another day!

It is a lovely local walk.
DeleteI am glad to support elderly and decrepit figures like myself.

Good to get out and about for a bit of fresh air and exercise, and the painting skill on display with the shield designs is very impressive.
ReplyDeleteAgree on both fronts. Really need to do a bit more of the former.

Impressive shield designs, original paperwork well worth saving - and new life for old troops!
ReplyDeleteThey are aren’t they on both counts.

Sorry that should read “paintwork”.
ReplyDeleteNo worries, you just got your worms wrong.

Looks like a splendid walk! Was up bright and early yesterday myself. The dog's internal clock seems off these days. So we were out bright and early. Much grumbling from me but very enjoyable once out.
ReplyDeleteI’m a morning person, seemingly unable to sleep beyond 05:15 most days. Going out early can be a relief and or pleasure after an early rise.

There's a strange yellow thing in the sky... I thought that had been missing in Scotland for a while!
ReplyDeleteOh l thought it was the moon, could be the sun, never thought of that!
