Planning for the Colonial Portable Wargame...suggestions please

I have two forces ready in 15mm - Spanish and American for 1898 with possibilities of have just enough to field Cuban rebels too. I am firstly looking for ideas for other opponents for these armies as a wee side project, any suggestions most welcome. Secondly I am trying to source Moro warriors in 15mm and available in the uk , any one point me in the right direction?

  2. Just about the right period for It's getting a bit Chile. So the armies for that war would be good opponents, as would any South American countries such as Brazil and Argentina.
Then there are the British, French and Dutch in the Caribbean

  3. You might try 'The Armchair General' in the USA- they do 15mm Spanish-American as well as 'The Wind and The Lion'.

    1. He does them but I wondered if they would tower over my Freikorp 15mms not to mention postal issues.

  4. I suspect you could get away with some early/fictional US intervention in Mexico games.

But there are always the Boxers.

  5. Tradgardmastare,

Perhaps your US troops could come to the aid of the party seeking to break Panama away from Colombia? Or they might appear in Morocco to rescue Mrs Pedicaris?

    All the best,

  6. My first reaction was Germans. An expedition to secure, if not a whole colony, a treaty with a friendly government for coaling stations for the Kriegsmarine to aid in their rivalry with the British Empire's Royal Navy.

So basically the plot of the movie Nate and Hayes at least as I remember it.

  8. As others have listed, hypothetical wars are unlimited. With the beginning of the American Century and a strong navy, one could imagine the US flexing her muscles anywhere on the globe. How about focusing on enforcing the Monroe Doctrine in the Western Hemisphere or Banana Wars in Central America?
