Rules question
What rules do you use to fight the Jacobite Wars? Recommendations welcome…
Wild night weather wise here in the Duchy. It continues…
F2F at Kevin's using his 18mm WoFun plexiglass armies - Commands & Colors Tricorne. Remote at Graham's using his 1/72 plastics - Tricorn and Bonnet Remote using my 15mm figures - Fields of Honors.
Rather depends on which Jacobite wars you're referring to! Wars in Ireland or rebellions in Scotland? For the latter, the Command & Colours games looks interesting, but don't have it. There's a Volley & Bayonet supplement for 1745 which is worth it even if you don't play the rules as the two booklets have background, uniform information, a campaign game and scenarios. OOP sadly, but still crop up second hand. Neil
I am doing a jacobite/game of Thrones crossover project. Initially was thinking Black powder. I have also just bought the pikemans lament to check out.
I'm rather attracted to Andy Callan's rules from the paper soldiers book. But I'm also using Honours of War. For the giant Flags of War figures that won't mix with my Crann Tara figures, I'll do skirmishes with Sharp Practice or Songs of Drums and Tomahawks.
Ronnie and I have used the paper soldier one with some success. It gives an enjoyable game. I look forward to seeing the skirmish games too. Alan Tradgardland
Depends upon who is hosting the game!
ReplyDeleteAnd if you were Jon…
