Building renovations
Been working on some house renovations and other building projects today, all Airfix.
The Airfix buildings are still available along with figures and wagons reissued and still produced by Dapol https://www.dapol.co.uk/shop/model-accessories/self-assembly-oo-kits
You are now duty bound to share good pics of the figures and dioramas page from the 1971 catalogue ...
Catalogue will indeed be shared. I looked up the modern kits, gosh they look complicated. Did like the interior sheets for curtains etc that came with them, excellent idea.
Looking carefully the catalogue page for the railways, isn't that an Airfix zookeeper wandering around with a bucket in hand and a fish, instead of using a civialian platform figure? http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/review.aspx?id=424
Maybe he is looking for a lost penguin, pelican or sealion in the Airfix rural suburban Britain of the 1960s
Classic buildings , I've still got that church somewhere .
ReplyDeleteClassic indeed!
DeleteAgree with you on the logo!
ReplyDeleteMy other buildings, presumably newer, have far more mundane logos sadly.
DeleteLove those buildings. I still have the windmill somewhere to make up.
ReplyDeleteThey have stood the test of time really well and it is fascinating to see they are still being produced.

Now there’s a game idea...
DeleteLovely to see. I'd quite forgotten about the bungalow.
ReplyDeleteRonnie
They are great fun and so utterly nostalgia drenched for many. The bungalow even comes with a television aerial according to my 1971 catalogue page!
DeleteWith respect to house renovations, you have your priorities right.
ReplyDeleteI think I do.
