Further fun with flats..

I got these a while back. I was charmed with the quirky energy of them. The trees with birds in them and a squirrel climbing up are charming. There is a naivety about the scene as a counterpoint to the hunting scene. I have no idea about the maker or the age ( not old at all I imagine) of them but I am glad I got them. I will set them up in the Theatrum Mundi soon and take some pictures. They lend themselves to some sort of simple game with a role play element perhaps, hmmm, we shall see.

  1. Alan, I think these are quite charming. I'm sure you could find a reason for the Nobility of the Duchy to have a bit of sport on a fine Spring morning...

  4. There are some boar hunting rules out there - unpleasant as it might be tô some, usually seen as cavalry training and quite dangerous to horse and rider

  5. The boar on the left and the humans all have a wonderful cartoon quality to their appearance. There is quite a bit of potential here.

  6. What a marvelous set you've found Alan! The animation of all of the animals is wonderful, the trees are quite charming, and the hunters have a certain quality that reminds me of early 1700's illustrations! Excellent find!

  8. Those trees are terrific fun. I wish I knew the maker, though currently endeavouring to do so, to see if I could add to this scene...
