The third oldest ship afloat in the World…

Had an enjoyable visit to Dundee today. Warm weather and sun. The highlight was the Unicorn-

I had to watch my head at all times. Goodness alone how one got about in a rough sea…

I really enjoy the world of Lucky Jack and Dr M but am ever so glad not to have gone to sea …

  1. Old ships are cool to visit, but yeah, I don't think I would enjoy being stuck on one in rough or calm seas for long stretches of time (or short ones).

  2. Hmmmm....must remember that one, next time I am "home" in the area. On our last visit, we went with friends to take a look around CaptaioScotts ship RRS Discovery - wasnt aware of the Unicorn!

  3. A couple of days ago I found myself watching this rather good you tube video on this very ship: https://youtu.be/R-y_oE4WKeg - highly recommended.

Presumably the two older ships are the Constitution and the Trincomalee? Though I'm not sure if the former should not be regarded as a modern replica, though the essence, the intention of the original builders survives, however many parts are replaced.
