Finally resolved my indecisiveness about names for Mark’s Little Soldiers armies! They are-
Ostmerk and Morava
Finally a photo of the Great River that flows through these venerable middle European countries. Both Ostmerk and Morava maintain patrol boats as the border between the two countries follows the course of the Great River in places…
Good choices! Close enough to actual countries to be able to place them roughly, but different enough to lend that mythic feel.

Very 1930's Film Noir-esque countries. They sound like jut the right setting for Marks Little Soldiers!

I agree with the others - a couple of names evocative of the obscurer and enigmatic parts of eastern Europe... One feels that imagi-Nations ought to have some air of mysterious romance about them...
