Saturday in Tradgardland

Got up early and watched Florence and the Machine at Glastonbury on iplayer. Well worth a look,it was an amazing set! After breakfast set up an experiment in dividing the patio slabs into four in a minimal and temporary fashion-
A stone is placed in the middle and the effect is not too intrusive.
Will try an outdoor grid based game when time and weather permit.Have a good Saturday one and all!

Rebasing 2- a question

I am going to be painting this chap soon-
Any ideas how to base him so he is flying across the 60mm squared base. With my bat base I mounted them ( they came in groups flying) on pins secured in milliput so they flew about an inch above the surface. The Nazgul is another matter entirely due to his size and weight. Having opted for a more scenic look I am loathed to go down the upside down plastic wineglass route. Can you help?

Rebasing

I have spent some time this weekend rebasing my Mythical Earth figures-
I used a mix of sand, brown acrylic paint and wood glue.Finishing touches with flock and grit.I haven't based like this for ages.
Finally any suggestions for old school  figures to use as Woses?

Inspiration

Ever since I began with the Duchy I have been inspired by images. They often spark off ideas ,plans and possibilities for gaming and planning.Never more so than this one of a war galley on a Swiss lake-
Please click on it to see it in all it's glory...
The galleys were used in the 18th century and before.
Off soon to garden in a very, very gusty Duchy before the rain hits...

1864 Airfix

In the following article by Paddy Griffith
http://vintagewargaming.blogspot.co.uk/2010/06/paddy-griffith-prusso-danish-war-of.html
reference is made to converting WW1 French to Danes. Has anyone seen photos of the converted figures or knows how it was done? Plasticine and banana oil perchance?
