Claymore 1994- Battle of Winwick Pass display

Claymore  2018 was most enjoyable. The three games that stood out for me were two Napoleonic games and the Suez one. Another to mention was a 42mm game complete with a Russian renaissance wagon fort, it looked splendid. I didn’t take any photos but was shown  afterwards a photo of a game l was part of , a display for the Pike and Shot society in 1994 . Jan painted the standard on a sheet for us.  Photos were taken of the actual battlefield, terrain made and figures painted. A team effort.Happy days.

  1. Sounds like a great day out.

Thanks for the recommendation of Babylon Berlin, BTW. I just finished it and it's an excellent read.

  3. Now I wish I had ben there! Even from the limitations of this photo, that looks a lovely game, enhanced by the personal involvement of research. Had I been there, I would have spent a lot of time at your table :-)

The Warlord Games expansion to Pike and Shotte 'To Kill a King' has a Winnick Pass scenario and they play down the table in their version, but P&S have potentially big moves, especially for cavalry.

    1. Interesting to hear of the scenario. I shall have to look out for it. All things combined to make it a positive experience for us and the public too.
