My only purchases. Rules from the folk putting on the 15mm TYW game, love the name of them! Book from Balkan Dave who was putting on the excellent 18th century Turks v Imperialists game.
Lovely bbq and catch up with friends and family in the late afternoon /evening. For the first time ever a seagull attempted to take food from the bbq whilst it was cooking!
I enjoyed chatting to old friends and new at the show and to those putting on the games. Particular mention of a reader of this blog who brought Airfix related magazine articles for me photograph. Thank you for your thoughtfulness. More on this anon…

ReplyDeleteOne time we were in Rotorua - about as inland as you can get in New Zealand but on the edge of a large lake. I was eating a steak pie, had just taken a bite and was holding the open pie in my hand .... when a %$&^#$ seagull swooped down, hovered next to me and grabbed a piece of steak out of the pie then flew off!
There is also a Falkirk show. I am fortunate indeed.

I am contemplating extending/reusing my ECW collection into thirty years war. So tempting! Looks like a nice wargames show. There aren't as many good ones left to go to in my neck of the woods (hardly any in fact!).

I've had a seagull attack a barbecue grill when it was on the fire and a baboon grab a packet of crisps from my hand on a picnic. Also had another baboon charge at me when I had a cheese roll. The roll went in the opposite direction while I ran for the car.
