All is well- an update

On Christmas Eve the girls and I set off for Yorkshire and a week's holiday  by car. By mid morning we were involved in a car accident, not of our making, resulting in the car sustaining full frontal damage. The important thing is we were unscathed if shaken up a little . The police were excellent and very kind.To cut a long story short we were home by mid afternoon. A short trip by foot for provisions uptown left us equipped well for Christmas Day.
We had quiet if enjoyable day- Mass, presents,Uno,Scrabble,Escape from Atlantis and a lovely meal. We all enjoyed it and counted ourselves fortunate to be here together and well. My daughters had bought me a Hugh Baillie Scott coloured print and a book about living in Britain during the Napoleonic wars. It is now Boxing Day , the wind and rain howl without and I am about to finish five series of Ripper Street with some coffee with prospect of a walk and a little light shopping later. Have a good one whatever you are doing.

  1. Tradgardmastare,

I was very sorry to read that you had been involved in an accident that had both damaged your car and brought your holiday to a grinding halt, but very, very pleased that none of you were injured. It sounds as if you have all managed to have a great family Christmas in spite of the problems, and I hope that you all have a great New Year.

    All the best,

PS. Enjoy Series 5 of 'Ripper Street'. I certainly did when I watched it ... and I am really looking forward to seeing how things unfold in the next series!

    1. I was unaware of a forthcoming next series,I thought I had bid my Whitechapel chums farewell this morning.God news indeed.

    2. No ore Ripper Street - Series 5 was the last one. This has been in the public domain for a long time and the rather pretentious last episode was clearly wrapping things up, having killed off all the main characters except Reid.

  2. Glad that everyone is safe and sorry to hear of your accident. Good to hear that your family Christmas happened despite the unforeseen problems that a car accident would cause.

    Cheers, Ross

  3. I agree with Bob and Ross - well put!
I'm glad to hear you are all okay! Sounds like you made the best of the situation. I hope the New Year treats you well!

  4. Sorry you had such an alarming experience, and I'm glad you and yours escaped unharmed. I'm looking forward to watching the next series of Ripper Street. It's excellent TV.

  5. I'm happy that you and your daughters are all well. And it's always good to hear stories about the police being helpful and kind.
Best wishes to you and the family!

  6. Better luck with your next trip to Yorkshire - let me know when you're coming.
