Fancied a wee period change and looked these out-
I’m wondering if l can’t be bothered with the single bases, should take the figures off them and glue onto mdf as units for the Portable Wargame and Neil Thomas rules…
60mm square base, all musketeers .
Any base thoughts folks?
I like Impetvs-sized units.
ReplyDeleteA wee question - can you recall the shade of green you are using on your bases?
ReplyDeleteI've been rebasing my old Minifigs and returning to the toy soldier look on a painted base. I'm now thinking of moving to a colour from B&Q and have been looking at options.
Thanks for any thoughts or tips,
Tom
I would base them on the Impetus size ones, look good on that size base.
ReplyDeleteFor what it is worth I'd keep the figures on their existing bases and either put a lip around the Impetus bases so I could just use it as a sabot or glue the figures down and use filler to level up the base all around giving me a good depth/height for fingers to hold onto.
ReplyDeleteFor Tom, I use a cheaper paint for bases and have found craft acrylic paints in "The Works" at a good price. I've used a dark green called 'Jungle Green' but brighter options are available if that's your pleasure. For myself I try to match the colour of my table which usually uses the old GW grassmats.

Thanks Stephen. Appreciated. I'll look into The Works next time I'm in the town.
DeleteI'm interested in what other people who do painted bases use. I've been using Sea Green by Miniature Paints, sold by the Coritani folks at UK shows. I've been thinking of getting B&Q to do a colour match mix from a sample.
Thanks.
Tom
