Seven Days later:

The Duchy of Tradgardland – One Week later…
Mr Mikael Pedersen was ushered into the courtyard of the Ducal Palace. He was asked to set up his display. The Duke would be happy to see him at eleven. Mr Pedersen was the Danish inventor of a unique and fantastic folding bicycle. Last week he had demonstrated the advantages of cycle borne infantry to the General staff in Denmark. Sadly they had not been interested in his thoroughly modern ideas and Mr Pedersen had been left bereft. Today he hoped would be different…
At exactly eleven o’clock the ducal party made its way downstairs. General Von Bergmann was in front leading - accompanied, as ever, by flustered aide de camp and sundry officers. For the next twenty minutes Pedersen thrilled the assembled throng with a most magnificent display of cycling and marksmanship. The officers applauded enthusiastically and even Von Bergmann looked pleased. Back, within the comforts afforded by his office, Von Bergman offered the Duke a glass of warm Tradgardlanian schnapps. The two men looked delighted. The combination of the Encyclopaedia Britannica, a Danish Cycle inventor and Duke Albert’s vision would lead to glorious days ahead for the Army…
