Portable wargames

I set up a couple of portable wargames on my 3 inch square cloth. The first was to play Bob's published rules (inspired by Ross's recent games) with 54mm figures-
The second was with the Portable ECW rules for a TYW game-

  1. Tradgardmastare,

Very tantalising; I'd love more details about both battles and your TYW rules in particulat.

    All the best,

    1. Bob the rules I used for the TYW are the ECW ones by Steven Page based upon your ones- https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bysf8B4RL9Erc2VPcHNwdDdZenM/view?pli=1
I did not change them and they seem to have given a good result and solo game. Perhaps one might make changes to reflect charging swedish tactics re cavalry but little else.

  2. Tradgardmastare, yes, very interesting. I think that the 17th Century is perfect for the gridded portable wargame. Would love to see a few more pictures and details of the rules. Could be easily tempted.

is where you find the rules, they are Steven Page's based upon Bob Cordery's ones. They give an enjoyable game.

    1. They are great. I had an army of them in the middle/late 1970's but gave them away to a friend. I still have literally one or two figures left which I enjoy still fielding. More figs soonish I hope.

  4. I love the flat hedges! I keep thinking abiut trying them on the grid with these sorts of games. I have a few tall but flat hard plastic trees and hedges from Barszo playsets, some of the same ones you have, and a Zinnbrigade mould for sone shrubery.

    1. I have odd pieces of flat trees and bushes probably schneider castings which look great too. Schneider flat houses work well too.
