Broken

I have enjoyed Man of Tins recent posts on repairing old toy soldiers. He uses a combination of skill and technique to great results. I found these laddies waiting aid on my desk top -

I will see how l get on. The feet replacement is okish but I am not so sure about the missing head. Perhaps a wee sculpting challenge to build it up in milliput?

  1. Or a head from another mini? I find plastic minis are a good source for things like that. Although, if you're up for the sculpting challenge that would be a great option.

  2. Good luck with a Milliput head sculpt. If you are buying or swapping heads, It's worth checking the size of figure as some Britains and Johillco figures are different builds slightly larger, slightly smaller. The idea of beheading another (plastic) mini is a good fallback idea. A tin hat can replace the feather bonnet for a Khaki Highlander. Twopenny bases are good counterweight. Lots of potential!

  3. I'd be tempted to save one by a head swap from the other but then he'd be lonely.

Worth trying a sculpt if you'tr interested. I'd glue a bit of wire into the neck hole to work around. If it doesn't work you could then go for a plastic or replacement metal head
