Comment tales

I have been having problems leaving comments on blogs, including my own. Some work some don’t there is no rhyme or reason. I have even found I cannot leave comments on Wordpress blogs using Facebook but have managed to using my Google account. So just to say I have been enjoying your blogs as ever , even if I can’t comment on them . Hopefully  the problem will resolve itself soon.

  2. I've been having similar problems. It's a bit random and will work one day but not the next

    1. It’s the random nature of it all that confuses me, not to mention how frustrating it is Alastair.

  3. I’ve had the same issue on blogspot for months! I usually have to completely close the browser and reload the blog then refresh it around 8 times to leave a comment.

  4. The vagaries of blogger. My issue is my reading list filters out certain blogs but then decides to present all the posts it's missed at once, so sometimes I'm getting 15or so posts stretching back months.

  5. I had a similar problem sometime back, and it turned out to have been caused by an OS update on my iPad. I had to change one setting and the problem was solved.

    All the best,

    Bob

  6. I was wondering simply because one of my posts had no comments at ALL, though everything else that month had more than one. (Of course, maybe no one was interested!)

    1. I celebrated by listening to the “In our Time” podcast on Burns which is excellent and having haggis, neeps and tattles for tea. I am quite a haggis fan including vegetarian ones too. I saw gluten free options in the supermarket yesterday too.

  8. This has come up with other bloggers as well. Part of it is script blockers. And the need to be logged into Google or WordPress at the same time. I think browsers are restricting free sharing of data across tabs now to help with privacy concerns. I wouldn't put it past blogger to be crapifying though...

  10. Generally, I have had better luck posting comments using Chrome on my iPad than I have had posting them using Safari, but even that is a little uncertain.

  11. Alan, which browser are you using? There are different solutions dependent upon browser.

    1. For Chrome on iPad, go to Settings -> Chrome app. Check to see if “Allow Cross-Site Tracking” is turned on. If not, try turning it on. Blogger uses two domains. Turning this option on allows the two domains to communicate your account details.
