I have always liked Ross M’s houses on his blog, especially the ones without roofs to allow toy soldiers to occupy them and fire out. So armed with some breakfast biscuit boxes l had a go. Card, paint and glue later , here they are so far. They need decorated before being pressed into service but l wanted to try them for size with some figures.
I made a number of buildings for my Army Men - until I decided my 1:72 buildings actually looked OK. But I've kept the few I've made. Posted in Archduke Piccolo blog -

DeleteRoofless buildings are a practical idea - they also mean you are less likely to forget that a unit is in the building! I have found the odd unit that was heavily under cover and didn't reappear until the battlefield was being cleared...

DeleteThe roofless ones allow everyone to know who is where especially helpful to avoid over long discussions and arguments.
Those boxes are a perfect size. I used to make buildings out of the old Minifigs boxes. Two made a decent sized house or water mill. Sturdy too.
