15 & 35 or a Great Day out!

Tuesday saw me having a splendid trip to the seaside domain of Ronnie Cobham ( of Fife &Drum forum and vwc. Fame, not to mention commentator on the Tradgardland blog ) for my first face to face Wargame in fifteen months and his in thirty five years! A great day indeed and thanks to him and his wife for their hospitality too.

We were trialling Willz’s One Side Of A4 Rules with some spontaneous add ons by ourselves. It was a chance to use Ronnie’s splendid 1745 collection. The game was played on a dining room table and was great fun. I commanded the Jacobites and managed to facilitate their defeat. An enjoyable time was had and we are resolved to do it again soon. In the meantime here are some photos-

  1. Some lovely photos!

Are the rules available anywhere? One-page ones sound right up my alley.

  5. Thanks so much, Alan. It was indeed a fabulous day. I must say that the photos came out rather well. I might just pluck up the courage to show them at the VWC after all!

  6. Lovely photos, Alan. The 18th century linear style of warfare and uniforms work best with 28mm wargame figures. Some very nice regiments on view!

  11. Great looking figures. The ones in the mitres remind me of old paintings.
