Volare Cantare’s place in the sun- scalcagnato

Welcome to Scalcagnato, The Duchy of Volare Cantare’s overseas colony. Unbiased accounts of the tiny North African fishing village see it a place to pass through rather than to stay yet to the Duke it is a glorious place albeit tiny and a tad run down.

Visit Scalcagnato and see the Askari training! Below a Volare Cantare Airways poster to this destination.
Tourists are flocking to the must go destination of the season…
Meanwhile back in the Duchy the Border Gendarmerie are put through their paces watched over by a rather bored cow.
The above was an excuse to paint up some figures and try out uniforms for Volare Cantare forces to take on the small Germanic states…

  1. Looks like a nice place to visit, but can you drink the water?

    1. No embassy but a chap in a linen suit who is our man in Scalcagnato. No visa just a substantial bribe to the customs authorities.

  3. Magnifico! I hope that a young Alberto Bertorelli (friend of Lieutenant Gruber of “little tank” fame) will be posted there to admire the “beautiful ladies” visiting Volare (Whow-ohh!)
    Weather: Scorchio!
    Attractive flats ...

    1. Schorcio every day. Alberto is a Ducal citizen and sadly misidentified as another nationality in some television programmes. He is often seen , in his youth, pressing his collection of scout uniforms and polishing his shoes. I feel he will go onto greater things…

  4. It look just the place for a cruise ship to stop for a day. A stable regime in charge, smiling natives, and an abundance of dates and figs to keep the crew and passengers regular.

Can one drink the local water or are visitors advised to drink Aqua Volare bottled mineral water? Is the local arak good enough for visitors to buy a bottle for the neighbour who is looking after the cat or would if be more suitable for a maiden aunt who dresses like a man and who smokes cheroots?

  5. I do hope you pop by on your next cruise even if it involves highjacking the vessel. Aqua Volare is widely available and the arak is enjoyed by a wide strata of society. I advise stocking up for you, your, neighbours, relatives and friends.
