Birthday viewing etc

On Saturday night we watched “The Dig “ on Netflix. I had read the book years ago and loved it so much I had reread it immediately. My middle daughter became a fan of the book too and my eldest eagerly anticipated the film being released. On its release we agreed to keep it for an occasion hence the Birthday viewing. We all really enjoyed the film and it was well worth the wait.

It is a slightly odd weekend in the household for us all too. My birthday on Saturday, Jan would have been 59 on Sunday and today the 8th is my parent’s wedding anniversary. So bittersweet days, hard days for the girls and a certain relief we are nearly through it. Lockdown leaves one with less energy to ride these waves and the buffeting in the household ship.

  6. Your birthday? Now how is it that you failed to mention that... Hmmm?

Best wishes to you Alan. Even if it is a couple of days late.

  7. Happy birthday - glad it went well. A bittersweet time, and tough on you all, but I guess the departed would want us to keep happy menories of them, and enjoy them at such times.
The Dig had a lot of interest in our neck of the woods of course. Local raconteur/comedian Charlie Haylock taught Ralph Fiennes to speak Suffolk:
