Johnson’s Mounted Rifles being prepared for painting...

Next up for War of 1812 service are these Kentuckians in 60mm . I do like these Xpeditionary Force fellows. Lots of different arms, weapons and options. This is my first occasion of dealing with horses in this scale and from this manufacturer. A wee guddle  to fit the horse to the base but other than that they are splendid. Looking forward to painting these and they will be uniformed too.

  1. A tough outfit! We had a group of trained riders acting as Johnson's Mounted Rifles at the Bicentennial of the Battle of the Thames. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fxc_EHzvnmM) Watch for the big US volley at 4:21. (I'm in a white jacket among the regulars.)

    1. Interesting. Thanks for that. It led me off into reading about Tecumseh, Fort Malden etc. I live in a place called New Malden (a London suburb) - the original settlement being Malden a couple of miles from me.

    1. Guddle means a mess, a fiddly complicated procedure going nowhere without stress and stuck fingers.
