I really enjoyed this book, you will too

 I have just finished re reading this book I bought some years ago. It is a fascinating if little known corner of history in these parts. Full of character and gaming inspiration it is well worth reading. Here is a review from someone who knows the period far better than me-

    My "used" copy arrived yesterday; pretty expensive compared to the original price but I'm really looking forward to getting into it.

    Very interesting Alan! I never knew that the Hessians were involved in "The Forty-Five!" I was only aware of their defeat at Trenton, New Jersey, in the AWI.

    It was news to me too. I have enjoyed reading in the past their experience in America. I see them trudging along ill kept roads in inclement weather .
