Bridge over troubled waters…

This morning I took a lovely autumnal walk to the Post Office to collect a couple of parcels-

My one contained this , to be used in conjunction with Mark’s Little Soldiers-

Used to have one as a boy but it is long since gone. Looking forward to seeing this in action…

  1. Lovely old Airfix kits... The castles are still some of my favourite models.

  6. Now that’s a great start to the week (including the lovely walk)!
Like many others, I had this kit. Very flexible. The pontoons even got pressed into service as invasion barges for Operation Sea Lion.

    1. Walk was lovely. I have been thinking of the many potential uses for this set too. Do you remember the Airfix Magazine Seelowe articles with plans of date boxes as invasion barges?

  7. I can't help thinking that for true retro wargaming, only the products that were available from Airfix should be used.

  9. Very nostalgic! A blast from the past indeed. Airfix rather defines those of us of a certain age... And a very enjoyale and scenic walk to collect it too. :-)

    Cheers,

    David.
