The second wave crashes in

The second wave of Mark’s Little Soldiers has arrived in the Duchy. Here are some Ostmerk troops awaiting painting-

Wave two will provide mortar teams, anti tank rifles, flamethrowers and smg armed troops amongst other things. I do like the designer’s nod to old Elastolin figures as in the case of the flamethrower.

Also a wee box arrived from Warbases with mdf bicycles and other transport options. They are currently on the painting table having been assembled and undercoated.

    1. Thanks. It’s from a book about Elastolin and is a page from an interwar catalogue. The bridge and pontoon boats, not to mention inflatables are tempting to replicate on the table.

  3. Agree with MJT - I do like the look of the Elastollin catalogue, and am looking forward to seeing the "Flammenwerfer" painted!

  4. I’d love to see those Ostmerk mortars defending a small neo-retro toy town!

    2. Do you need the neo-retro town to be absolutely to scale? My son is using a set of blocks we found at a wargames convention flea market some years ago with his 1/72 19th C imagi-nations. Link here:http://junkyardplanet.blogspot.com/2021/11/nordalen-and-seridia-join-fray.html for example.

As for me, it is extremely tempting to buy a bunch of these. I've been working with Schneider molds recently, so I really like the look, but I am desperately attempting to focus on fewer projects. :P
