After meeting at Happy Valley we walked along the canal to the Dell.
Incidentally I found online this picture of Happy Valley pond in the 1960sWalking along the canal.
Walking along the Water of Leith. Note heron who was later dive bombed by a crow until he flew off.
We walked along the former railway line to Balerno and came to the tunnel at Colinton.
A lovely way to spend a morning. We stopped in Colinton village for coffee and then walked back retracing our steps.
You’ve grown wings!
ReplyDeleteThis is a very impressive reuse of a dark tunnel - feels much safer and well lit, a great community effort which shows off local boy RLS’ poem very well. An excellent poem, predating Auden’s more famous Night Mail poem by several generations. Still as relevant today ...
ReplyDeleteHow lucky we are to have these imaginative types like H G Wells and RLS as creative gaming literary ancestors of our hobby!
That looks a beautiful walk Alan. I love the mural. And the fact they encourage people to make a train noise. 😁
