Agree with Neil except that I'm not sure whether the bottom right vehicle is a Nashorn (8.8cm PaK43 anti-tank gun) or a Hummel (15.0cm howitzer). The lack of a muzzle brake on the gun suggests that it MIGHT be the latter. Incidentally, the Nashorn was also known as the 'Hornisse' (Hornet). Cheers, Ion
I think Ion may be right; I was going by length of barrel which seemed too long for a Hummel, but a closer look at the hull front suggests it's a Hummel not a Nashorn. Neil
Alan, if these are the Airfix Half Tracks crew, I have a small number of German spare crew and passengers for this kit from the late Tony Adams that would like to fight again ...
Top to bottom, L to R:
ReplyDeleteL & R Sdkfz 7 Airfix tractors for 88mm guns
L Opel Blitz R Ostwind
L Sdkfz with 37mm flak, R Nashorn
Neil
Sorry Whirbelwind not Ostwind (latter had single 37mm as oppose to quad 20mm)

I think the flak half track may be an Sws with 37mm flak - the unarmoured version. Though, tactical employment wise, doesn't make much difference.
